What is Tome App?

Tome App is a platform that helps you shape and share your ideas. It’s a flexible format that lets you create anything from presentations, sales pitches, photo albums, mood boards, and more.

The developers of Tome App distinguish themselves by integrating Tome’s AI as a partner to shape and articulate your ideas. This ensures you find the best way to express your thoughts. 

It does not matter what you want to say, Tome App supports you in figuring out how to say it. The tool is a fluid, multimedia canvas that lives on the web and is responsible on any screen or device.

In this article, I share my opinion about Tome App. I tested the tool by creating a presentation about ‘The history of cars‘.

What can you create with Tome App?

Tome App is a solution for creators who would like to tell a story, share information, pitch ideas, educate people, and much more. Here is a sample of what you can create:

The tool includes many ready-to-go templates. Within every template, you can adjust everything you would like. Change colors, add/delete text, change headings, and add pages. It’s all possible.

Tome does not let you do all the work alone. The new possibilities with AI help you to quickly generate images, text, variations, and outlines. Then, edit the content until you have created it as you envisioned it.

Tome now also supports nine languages: Spanish, Portuguese Brazilian, French, Italian, German, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and Korean. You can change the settings via https://tome.app/settings/me.

Integrations

The platform has a variety of integrations. The most well-known are Youtube, Miro, Spline, and Figma. 

Add YouTube videos to your page, embed live Miro boards onto your page, add live and interactive 3D models to your page, and embed live Figma prototypes to your page.

Changelog

This feature allows you to access your AI page generation history. All your AI-generations will be saved in the log and this means you don’t have to worry about losing any of your designs.

Tome for Edu

When you sign up with a .edu mail address, you receive 5,000 free AI credits instead of 500. It’s also possible to sign up with proof of enrollment from your educational institution.

My experience

I had fun testing Tome App. As I said at the beginning of this article, I wanted to create a presentation about ‘The history of cars’. I preferred to create this from scratch instead of a template.

As soon as I signed into the dashboard, I clicked at the top right bottom on ‘Create’.

Then, I clicked at the bottom of the prompt block and selected ‘Create presentation about…’ I filled in my prompt ‘The history of cars’ and chose to create 10 pages. I hit enter to create the outline of my presentation.

Once the outline of your presentation is created, you can swap the order of the topics if you would like. I was satisfied with my outline and clicked on ‘Continue’. 

My 10-page presentation was created, great! The first thing that caught my eye was the clear structure of the pages: A simple two-column with text on the left side and an image on the right side. I especially liked the cartoonish image included. 

The text was factually sound, but from my view too much for a presentation. If you’re going to do the presentation live, then I would recommend translating the text into bullet points.

However, I wanted to make some edits to the text and test the AI functionality of Tome App a bit further. I selected the heading of a page and let Tome App search for a reference on the web:

Then, I adjusted the tone of the paragraph from ‘neutral’ to ‘persuasive’:

Lastly, I rewrote the text into different words and phrases:

As you can see, you can play around with the Tome App’s AI functionalities. Keep modifying until you’re satisfied with your content.

Overall, I’m satisfied with my creation. Some tweaks here and there, and then it would be ready to use for a presentation.

What I like

• Variety of templates to choose from
• Quality of the unique AI-generated text and images
• Supported integrations: Include for example a Youtube video

What I don’t like

• Too much text in the presentation, you have to translate the text into bullet points yourself
• Not possible to choose from a layout other than the two-column layout

Summary of Tome App review

Tome App is a useful tool to create outlines for anything you would like to create. From resumes to mood boards, Tome app got you covered.

Create your design from scratch or choose from one of the pre-designed templates. Fill in your prompt as specific or broad as you want, and Tome App creates the outline of your design for you.

It’s a great solution to use on a personal or professional basis. You can use it personally to create an outline for your resume or design portfolio. Professionally it can be used to design a sales pitch or presentation.

That’s what I like about Tome App, it’s built for a broad audience. Everyone can use the features of Tome App at some point in his or her life.
